In #Lebanon, up to 35% of girls aged 15–17 are denied education, depending on the region.  Classrooms. Dreams. Through UNICEF’s Learning to Earning programme, 384 youth are assisting technical psychologists and experts to support the emotional and physical wellbeing of communities affected by the war, helping children heal in safe spaces where they can express themselves through play and music. 💙    This initiative is made possible by the generous support of the German Government through KfW Development Bank, driving positive change for both the community and the youth involved. من خلال برنامج "التعلّم من أجل الكسب" التابع لليونيسف، يساهم 384 شاباً وشابة في دعم الأخصائيين النفسيين والخبراء، لتعزيز الصحة النفسية والجسدية في المجتمعات المتضررة من الحرب، ومساعدة الأطفال على التعافي في مساحات آمنة يمكنهم فيها التعبير عن أنفسهم من خلال اللعب والموسيقى. 💙    يتم تحقيق هذه المبادرة بفضل دعم من الحكومة الألمانية من خلال بنك التنمية KfW، مما يساهم في إحداث تغيير إيجابي في المجتمع ولدى الشباب والشابات المشاركين.

In #Lebanon, too many girls face violence that threatens their well-being and future. According to the Gender-Based Violence Information Management System (GBV IMS) for January–June 2025: ➡️ Girls accounted for 12% of all reported GBV incidents. ➡️ 34% of incidents reported by girls were cases of forced marriage. Violence against girls is a violation of their rights. Together with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and with the generous support of the Embassy of Sweden 🇸🇪, we’re launching Mustaqbali Khayari (My Future, My Decision), a new joint programme addressing the heightened risks of gender-based violence and harmful practices, including child marriage, among adolescent girls and women in #Lebanon. Over the next two years, the programme will: ✅ Empower adolescent girls to make informed choices in safe environments. ✅ Strengthen access to reproductive health and protection services, including mental health and psychosocial support. ✅ Build the capacity of national systems and frontline workers to deliver trauma-informed care. #ForEveryGirl, dignity.
